What are the examination items for osteosarcoma

People don't know much about many of the examination items in hospitals nowadays, and sarcoma is one of the most common malignant tumors. Osteosarcoma is a disease with relatively uncommon symptoms after onset, so what examinations should be done for osteosarcoma? Let's take a look at the examination items for sarcoma!

Examination items: serum alkaline phosphatase (ALP), serum zinc (Zn), bone and joint plain films of the limbs, serum copper (Cu2+, Cu), heterophile agglutination test, serum manganese (Mn), ECT examination

Osteosarcoma patients should undergo comprehensive laboratory tests upon admission, including blood, urine, stool, liver and kidney function, etc., for reference in diagnosis and treatment. For osteosarcoma patients, we often use erythrocyte sedimentation rate, alkaline phosphatase, trace element analysis of copper and zinc ratio as dynamic observation indicators.

1. ESR The ESR of early-stage osteosarcoma, sclerotic osteosarcoma, and well-differentiated osteosarcoma is within the normal range. The ESR of patients with large tumors, poor differentiation, and metastasis is accelerated. ESR can be used as a dynamic observation indicator during the development of osteosarcoma, but it is not very sensitive.

2. Alkaline phosphatase The examination of alkaline phosphatase is the most meaningful. The change of its level is closely related to the activity of tumor bone cells and is also of certain value in judging the prognosis of patients. However, in children, due to vigorous growth and development, the level of alkaline phosphatase may be affected.

3. Serum copper, zinc and copper-zinc ratio Serum copper and zinc are important substances for the growth and development of the body. The use of atomic absorption spectrometry to measure the content of serum endone and zinc is helpful for the diagnosis, efficacy observation and prognosis estimation of osteosarcoma. We have used this test to observe patients with bone tumors since 1987 and believe that this method is reliable.

Serum copper, zinc and copper/zinc ratio play a certain role in the diagnosis of osteosarcoma, evaluation of therapeutic efficacy, judgment of metastasis and estimation of prognosis.

After osteosarcoma is diagnosed by pathology, early chemotherapy or radiotherapy begins. Resection of tumor tissue is an important step in the treatment of osteosarcoma. With the improvement of tumor surgical technology and the development of implant research, limb preservation therapy has shown a good treatment prospect. Consolidation chemotherapy or radiotherapy after tumor tissue resection is very important for controlling tumor metastasis and improving survival rate.
