Can I still have children after having endometrial cancer?

As the incidence of gynecological malignancies tends to be younger, preserving fertility has become an important issue. At the same time, due to the continuous improvement of diagnostic technology and treatment methods, the early diagnosis rate of tumors and the long-term survival rate of patients have been significantly improved, which provides the possibility for some young patients with gynecological malignancies to preserve their fertility. So, which patients with endometrial cancer are suitable for the treatment of preserving fertility?

It is generally believed that patients with endometrial cancer who wish to preserve their fertility should meet the following conditions:

1. Aged ≤ 40 years, not having given birth or having a strong desire to have a baby.

2. Pathological diagnosis is endometrioid adenocarcinoma or adenocarcinoma.

3. MRI examination showed no evidence of myometrial invasion or cervical involvement, and no extrauterine lesions.

4. High differentiation.

5. Progesterone receptor positive.

6. Serum CA-125 is normal.

7. Liver and kidney functions are normal, and there are no contraindications to drug treatment.

8. Close follow-up is possible and compliance is good. Some scholars have suggested that laparoscopic pelvic lymph node resection should also be performed without evidence of lymph node metastasis.

In order to ensure successful treatment of patients, the following work must be done.

Pre-treatment condition assessment and informed choice.

Master the correct treatment methods and assessment strategies.

Choose the appropriate assisted reproductive strategy.

Pay attention to the treatment of post-childbirth and recurrent cases.
