(I) Cytological examination

If cancer cells or nuclear heterogeneous cells are found, cervical biopsy should be performed further. This method is often used for screening during cervical cancer screening.

(ii) Cervical biopsy

An iodine test should be performed first, and samples should be taken from the unstained area to improve accuracy. The sample should include the junction of the cervical squamous and columnar epithelium, and it is best to perform a biopsy at four points, 3, 6, 9, and 12 o'clock, to prevent missed diagnosis.

(III) Colposcopy

The colposcope can magnify the cervix 16 to 40 times, allowing for a closer look at changes in the cervical epithelium and the junction of the squamous and columnar epithelium. Biopsy under the guidance of the colposcope can improve accuracy. When the junction of the squamous and columnar epithelium cannot be seen, the cervical canal should be scraped and the discharge should be sent for pathological examination.

(IV) Cervical cone biopsy

The cervix is ​​cone-shaped. Before the operation, a colposcopy should be performed to determine the location of the lesion, and an iodine test can also be performed. The resected specimen should be serially sectioned to exclude invasive cancer.
