5 hazards of lung cancer to human health

Lung cancer is the most common malignant tumor of the respiratory system. Most lung cancers originate from the bronchial mucosal epithelium, so it is also called bronchial lung cancer. In recent years, its incidence has been increasing year by year, seriously threatening human health. The harm of lung cancer to human health is mainly reflected in the following five aspects:

1. Block the bronchus and affect respiratory function

The bronchus of lung cancer patients is blocked by cancer, and the original normal alveolar cysts no longer exist, affecting the exchange of oxygen and carbon dioxide, so patients will feel chest tightness and shortness of breath. In addition, the cancer also occupies a certain amount of lung tissue, which also affects the respiratory function of the alveoli.

2. Cause irritating cough and hemoptysis

Bronchial nerves are extremely sensitive, and cancerous masses that grow can stimulate the nerves in the bronchus, causing coughing. Everyone has this experience in life: when eating, rice grains accidentally enter the trachea, and coughing a few times to cough out the rice grains will relieve the cough. However, it is impossible to cough out the cancerous lesions growing in the bronchus, so there will be bursts of violent dry coughs that are difficult to stop. When the violent cough causes the small bronchus to be damaged, coughing up blood will occur.

3. Prone to pneumonia

Lung cancer patients have bronchial obstruction or semi-obstruction due to tumors, and bronchial secretions are difficult to discharge, which increases the chance of bacterial infection, causing fever and obstructive pneumonia.

4. Difficulty breathing

Once lung cancer spreads, it may affect the pleura and cause chest pain. In severe cases, pleural effusion may occur. Excessive pleural effusion will compress the lungs and aggravate the degree of dyspnea in lung cancer patients. Moreover, pleural effusion is difficult to eliminate and dyspnea is not easy to relieve.

5. Lung cancer in the late stage can spread widely, affect the functions of other organs, and endanger life

Lung cancer can spread throughout the body through direct diffusion, blood circulation or lymphatic pathways, causing dysfunction of other important organs and tissues, affecting the body's metabolic balance and endangering the patient's life.
