That is, the heat of summer damages the body's yang energy and yin fluid, so people will have symptoms of suppressed spleen and stomach function, such as fatigue and loss of appetite. The spleen and stomach function cannot function normally, and the abnormal transportation and transformation of water and moisture in the body will lead to the endogenous generation of dampness, and frequent drinking of water will also aggravate the retention of water and moisture.

Secondly, changes in eating habits also lead to two conditions in the human body: damp-heat and dampness stagnation. Eating spicy and stimulating foods such as barbecue and hot pot often causes symptoms of internal dampness and heat: bitter and sticky mouth, chest and abdominal distension, unclear mind, drowsiness, sticky and uncomfortable stools, yellow and greasy tongue coating, etc. Excessive consumption of cold drinks will cause symptoms of dampness obstruction, such as a heavy head, loss of appetite, abdominal distension, loose stools, and a greasy white coating on the tongue.

Dampness is the product of the combination of natural summer dampness and human body's damp heat. When evil dampness inside and outside the human body colludes with each other, there are generally two results: evil dampness in the spleen and evil damp-heat in the stomach. As the saying goes, "In a body with strong yang, there is always a lot of dampness in the stomach, and in a body with strong yin, there is also a lot of dampness in the spleen." The main manifestations of dampness in the spleen are pale tongue with greasy white coating, head feeling as if wrapped, no thirst, abdominal distension, bloating, fatigue and heaviness in the limbs, and loose stools. Dampness in the stomach manifests as a red tongue with a greasy yellow coating, confusion, throat discomfort, sticky and bitter mouth, poor appetite, chest tightness, stomach discomfort, thirst without desire to drink, and sticky and uncomfortable stools. Daily conditioning

First of all, humidity in summer is a natural phenomenon and a normal tendency of the transformation of yin and yang in nature. "Spring is warm, summer is hot, autumn is cool, and winter is so cold that your fingers grow long." In the long process of evolution, humans have adapted to climate changes in nature. Therefore, in the hot and humid season, as long as you lead a regular life, dampness will not cause much problem to people. As the seasons change, dampness will naturally subside.

Secondly, some people need to use diet therapy to remove dampness from the body. For symptoms of damp-heat such as red tongue with yellow greasy coating, unclear mind, sticky and bitter mouth, thirst without desire to drink, sticky and uncomfortable stool, you can drink raw coix seed and mung bean porridge, or eat watermelon; people with heavy dampness need to be careful not to simply remove dampness, but also pay attention to regulating the stomach and intestines at the same time to fundamentally solve the problem. For severe symptoms of dampness, such as pale tongue with greasy white coating, confused head, no thirst, abdominal distension, sleepiness and heaviness in the limbs, loose stools, etc., you can use Ge Yi Decoction, which can not only remove damp heat and dampness, but also has a good effect on strengthening the spleen and stomach.

Of course, for some people, if the dampness cannot be relieved by diet therapy, they need to go to the hospital for treatment. Especially for people with chronic digestive tract diseases, if the dampness in summer blocks the spleen and stomach's function of transportation and transformation and induces the aggravation of the original disease, they should go to the hospital as soon as possible. Strengthen the spleen and eliminate dampness

When the spleen is deficient and dampness occurs, the spleen should be strengthened to remove dampness, excess water should be excreted from the body (diuresis) or the substances that cause the body's immune response should be reduced and eliminated. Warming and nourishing the spleen and stomach is the best way to relieve dampness. To warm and nourish the spleen, you can eat foods that strengthen the spleen, such as crucian carp, carrots, apples, Chinese yam, lotus seeds, Euryale ferox, pork tripe, duck, etc.; foods that remove dampness include red beans, coix seeds[2], lettuce, lentils, winter melon, etc., or you can drink therapeutic dampness-removing beverages on a regular basis. Dampness often comes together with "cold", so you should keep warm, avoid getting cold, and don't eat too cold food.

Method: Boil water with 100 grams of ginger, 20 grams of tangerine peel and 30 grams of mint for bathing
