What should I do if I sprain my waist

Our waist is very fragile. When the waist is sprained, we must rest carefully, because the lumbar spine sometimes bears the weight of our entire body. If it is sprained by inertia, it will cause certain damage to our lumbar vertebrae and our kidneys. And after the waist is sprained, we must rest in bed. So what should we do if the waist is sprained?

Treatment for lumbar sprain is as follows:

1. If it is an acute sprain, generally choose to lie down and rest, avoid strenuous activities, and choose a more comfortable position;

2. You can apply cold compress appropriately, but not hot compress, because sprains are prone to exudation of some inflammatory substances and rupture of small capillaries, which will cause more losses. In this case, cold compress treatment is generally used instead of hot compress treatment. Generally, hot compress treatment should be applied less than 24 hours later to prevent exudation from worsening and worsening of the condition.

3. If the pain is not relieved after resting at home or applying cold compress, you should go to the hospital to check the lumbar spine problem. What is the cause? Is it because of injury or some underlying disease? You should rule out the cause of the underlying disease. In addition, there may be more methods in the hospital. If it is a general acute sprain, acupuncture treatment or some small joint bone setting treatment will relieve it quickly and generally will not leave sequelae.

If you sprain your waist, you should rest in bed. If the pain is mild and your range of motion is good, you can take painkillers or apply cold compresses. If the pain is severe and your movements are completely restricted, go to the hospital for treatment. You can apply ice or a cold towel to the affected area before going to the hospital. If accompanied by pain or numbness in both lower limbs, it may be lumbar disc herniation or lumbar spondylolisthesis and you should go to the hospital for treatment. If it is an acute lumbar sprain in the elderly, you can rest at home if it is a mild case, but you should go to the hospital for treatment if it is a serious case.
