What tests should I do for chest pain

Chest pain is a situation we often encounter. Since the chest is a special area, it often attracts people's great attention. Generally, after people find chest pain, they will go to the hospital for some examinations to check whether they have some major diseases that need timely treatment. However, there are many examinations in the hospital. So if we have chest pain, what examinations do we need to do in the hospital?

This symptom should rule out the possibility of cardiopulmonary disease. It is recommended to complete electrocardiogram, cardiac ultrasound, and chest CT examination. Perform electronic gastroscopy if necessary. If the symptoms are severe, it is recommended to seek medical attention promptly.

The myocardial cell membrane is a semipermeable membrane. In the resting state, a certain number of positively charged cations are arranged outside the membrane, and the same number of negatively charged anions are arranged inside the membrane. The potential outside the membrane is higher than that inside the membrane, which is called the polarized state. In the resting state, since the myocardial cells in various parts of the heart are in a polarized state and there is no potential difference, the potential curve recorded by the current recorder is straight, which is the isopotential line of the surface electrocardiogram.

Cardiac color ultrasound is the only instrument that can dynamically display the structure of the heart cavity, heart beats and blood flow without causing any harm to the human body. The heart probe is like the lens of a camera. As the probe rotates, the various structures of the heart are clearly displayed on the screen.

CT uses X-ray beams to scan a layer of a certain thickness in a certain part of the human body. The detector receives the X-rays that pass through the layer, converts them into visible light, and then converts them into electrical signals through photoelectric conversion. They are then converted into digital signals through an analog/digital converter and input into a computer for processing.

The image formation process is like dividing the selected layer into a number of cuboids of equal volume, called voxels. The information obtained from the scan is calculated to obtain the X-ray attenuation coefficient or absorption coefficient of each voxel, and then arranged into a matrix, that is, a digital matrix, which can be stored in a disk or CD. The digital/analog converter converts each number in the digital matrix into small squares of varying grayscale from black to white, namely pixels, and arranges them in a matrix to form a CT image. Therefore, CT images are reconstructed images. The X-ray absorption coefficient of each voxel can be calculated by different mathematical methods.
