Will the inflammation shrink after radiotherapy?

Will the inflammation shrink after radiotherapy?

I believe that everyone often encounters the issue of radiotherapy in life. In fact, radiotherapy includes many reasons, such as cancer or inflammatory infection. It is also not ruled out that it is due to benign tumor problems. Patients need to use radiotherapy to achieve the treatment effect. Only radiotherapy can reduce inflammation.

Tumors and Cancer

There are two types of tumors, benign and malignant. The benign ones are called tumors, and the malignant ones are called cancer or sarcoma.

Simply put, benign ones are called tumors, and once they develop into malignant ones, they are called cancer. Tumor cells The term tumor is defined in medical monographs as: "Tumor is a new growth characterized by excessive cell proliferation that is produced by the cells of human organ tissues under the long-term action of external and internal harmful factors. This new growth has nothing to do with the physiological needs of the affected organ, does not grow according to the rules of normal organs, loses the function of normal cells, destroys the original organ structure, and some can metastasize to other parts, endangering life." Tumors can be divided into two major categories: benign tumors and malignant tumors, and cancer is a type of malignant tumor. Since benign tumors have little impact on human health, the following focuses on malignant tumors, especially cancer.

Malignant tumors can be divided into two categories from a histological perspective: one type is called cancer when epithelial cells undergo malignant transformation, such as lung cancer when lung epithelial cells undergo malignant transformation, gastric cancer when gastric epithelial cells undergo malignant transformation, etc.; the other type is called sarcoma when mesenchymal tissue undergoes malignant transformation, such as leiomyosarcoma, fibrosarcoma, etc. People hear more about cancer and less about sarcoma. This is because there are far more cancer patients than sarcoma patients.

Clinically, the ratio of carcinoma to sarcoma is approximately 9:1. Lung cancer, as a type of malignant tumor, evolves from normal cells in the human body. After normal cells become cancer cells, they are like a wild horse that has run away from its reins. The human body is unable to restrain it, resulting in the so-called "abnormal proliferation."

Abnormal proliferation is relative to the normal proliferation of cells. Human cells go through a process of growth, reproduction, aging and death. When aging cells die, new cells will replace them to maintain the normal functions of the body's tissues and organs. It can be seen that most cells in the human body can reproduce. However, the proliferation of normal cells is limited, while the proliferation of cancer cells is endless. It is precisely because of this malignant proliferation that a large amount of nutrients in the human body are consumed. At the same time, cancer cells can also release a variety of toxins, causing a series of symptoms in the human body. If not discovered and treated in time, cancer cells can metastasize to various parts of the body and grow and multiply, eventually leading to weight loss, weakness, anemia, loss of appetite, fever, and organ damage, with extremely serious consequences.
