How do mites form?

Mites are actually common pests in our daily life. Although we cannot see them with our naked eyes, we can effectively prevent them as long as we do the relevant cleaning work. Generally, mites can be divided into two types, hair follicle mites and sebaceous gland mites. Both types of mites can cause obvious damage to human skin, and patients will also feel corresponding discomfort.

Mites are a type of tiny animals belonging to the class Arachnida, subclass Acari, phylum Arthropoda. Their body size is generally around 0.5 mm, some are as small as 0.1 mm, and most species are smaller than 1 mm. Mites and spiders belong to the same order Arachnida. Adult mites have four pairs of legs, a pair of antennae, no wings or antennae, and their body structure is different from that of insects. The insect body is divided into maxilla and body. The maxilla is composed of mouthparts and maxilla base, and the body is divided into podia and endosoma. There are many hairs on the body and feet of the mite, some of which are very long. It has a mouthpart at the front and feeds on a variety of foods, such as dandruff. More than 50,000 species of mites have been discovered in the world, second only to insects. Many types are related to medicine. It has been discovered that mites are closely related to human health. Mites such as gamasid mites, chiggers, scabies, demodectes, flour mites, dust mites and caterpillar mites can bite people to suck blood, invade the skin, cause "rosacea" or demodectic disease, allergies, urinary tract mites, pulmonary mites, intestinal mites and scabies, which seriously endanger human health.

Population distribution

There are two main types of mites that parasitize the human body. One is the hair follicle mite, also called human Demodex, and the other is the sebaceous mite, which parasitizes in the sebaceous glands on the human face and is generally referred to as mites.

Mites are usually divided into several major categories, including dust mites, flour mites, leather mites, and chiggers. They are microscopic pests that are not easily visible to the naked eye. Mites are widely distributed in dark corners of the room, carpets, mattresses, pillows, sofas, air conditioners, mats, etc. Among them, dust mites are the most widely distributed and have the greatest impact. The corpses, secretions, and excrement of mites are all allergens, which can cause allergic dermatitis, asthma, bronchitis, nephritis, allergic rhinitis and other diseases, which seriously endanger human health.

External treatment prescription

First of all, you should know that there is no quick-acting medicine to treat mites.

Method 1

Sulfur soap. Available in supermarkets and small shops.

Washing the affected area once or twice a day with sulfur soap works wonders in treating mite bites. The first time you use it, you may feel your skin tightening and hurting, and even some skin peeling may occur after use. This is a normal reaction. If you still have strong feelings after the third time, please stop using it.

Note ②: Do not use for a long time. It is recommended to stop using it for a period of time after continuous use for no more than 2 weeks. Note ①: Suitable for oily skin. At the same time, oily skin can still be washed with sulfur soap once or twice a week for prevention after recovery; use with caution on neutral skin; avoid use on dry skin or follow the doctor's advice.

Method 2

Soak in concentrated salt water.

Apply concentrated saline solution to the affected area with a cotton swab several times a day. The principle is that mites die due to lack of water in their cell fluid when encountering concentrated salt water. The advantages are that the method is simple, has no side effects, and is suitable for all kinds of people. The disadvantage is that it takes a long time to take effect, and you need to wait for the mites to degrade after they die naturally.
