Is it time to get better if chickenpox starts to itch?

Varicella is a contagious viral infection that is widespread in our lives, especially among young people. Chickenpox grows very quickly and can cover all parts of the body in just a few days, causing great pain to the patient. The recovery period for chickenpox is relatively long, about a week, and there is no uniformly recognized standard for its recovery. For example, does it mean that the chickenpox will be cured when it starts to itch?

Generally, when the chickenpox is about to recover, the redness and swelling will disappear, and the body temperature will return to normal. The symptoms will vary depending on the individual's physical condition and the disease. If there are no other abnormal symptoms, you can observe temporarily.

Chickenpox is an acute infectious disease caused by primary infection with the varicella-zoster virus. Chickenpox is highly contagious, so rest and treatment are recommended until all the rashes are scabby. After the scabs are formed, it is no longer contagious. There is no specific treatment for this disease. The main treatment is symptomatic treatment to fight viruses, prevent secondary skin infections, and prevent scarring.

Try not to eat irritating foods such as meat when you have chickenpox. It is better to eat less irritating foods such as chicken, duck, goose, beef, mutton, and seafood. Eat more nutritious foods such as vegetables, porridge, mung beans, and fruits, and add less soy sauce. Otherwise, after the chickenpox is cured, the chickenpox marks will be darker and will take a longer time to fade.

Western medicine treatment for chickenpox is mainly symptomatic. If the itching is severe, phenergan can be taken orally and calamine lotion can be applied topically. If the herpes has ruptured, 1% gentian violet can be applied. If there is a secondary bacterial infection of the skin, tetracycline ointment or antibiotics can be used topically. Traditional Chinese medicine treatment: 12 grams of honeysuckle and 3 grams of licorice, decocted in water and taken for three days. If the skin is scratched, you can apply Indigo Powder externally. Please follow your doctor's advice for specific dosage.

If you have chickenpox, you should first drink more warm water, pay attention to rest, avoid scratching, and avoid spicy and irritating foods. You can receive symptomatic treatment. If there are blisters locally, you can apply iodine disinfectant and keep the local area dry. Generally, you need to isolate the area until all the skin is scabby, and avoid excessive soaking in water.

The chickenpox rash mainly affects the epidermis of the skin, so although the symptoms are severe, no scars are left after recovery. However, if the rash is scratched and causes bacterial infection, the dermis of the skin will be damaged. Then, even after the chickenpox is cured, permanent scars will be left on the skin.
