How to wash paint off clothes

Generally speaking, people working in the repair industry will get paint, especially those working in car repair jobs. It is more likely that paint will get on their clothes, but once it gets on, it is particularly difficult to clean because the paint is very difficult to get off after it dries. Therefore, you must use something else to clean it, and you can no longer use traditional laundry detergent.

1. If clothes are stained with paint or spray paint, apply a little cooling oil on the front and back of the clothes. After a few minutes, use a cotton ball to rub along the warp and weft lines of the fabric a few times, and the paint stains will be removed. 1-day paint stains can also be removed using this method. Just apply a little cooling oil and the paint will wrinkle on its own and can be peeled off. Then wash the clothes and the paint stains will disappear.

2. For new stains, you can wipe the stain with turpentine or banana water, and then scrub it with gasoline. For old stains, soak the stained area in 10-20% ammonia or borax solution to dissolve the coagulant and brush it clean. For wine stains, use boiled milk, which is very effective. Among them, white cotton and linen clothing is the most effective. Ink stains and lipstick stains can be washed with water and then detergent, or glutinous rice can be mixed with detergent. You can also apply toothpaste on the stained part and rub it, then rinse with water. If it is silk material, lay the stain face down on a clean paper, apply dry cleaning agent or alcohol, rub the back of the stain on the silk fabric until the stain disappears, then wash and rinse.

If it is stained with solvent-based paint (such as Yongming paint, Sanbao paint, etc.), it should be immediately scrubbed with a cloth or cotton ball dipped in gasoline, kerosene or thinner, and then washed with detergent solution. If it gets stained with water-soluble paint (such as water-soluble paint, latex paint) and household interior wall paint, it will come off immediately by washing with water.

If the contamination is paint or asphalt, if the time is not long and the dirt has not solidified, you can use turpentine (or benzene and gasoline, etc.) to rub and wash it. For old stains (that have solidified), first soak them in a mixture of ether and turpentine (1:1). After the stains become soft (about 10 minutes), scrub them with gasoline or benzene, and finally rinse them with clean water.

If asphalt gets on your clothes, you can first scrape it off with a knife, soak it in carbon tetrachloride (available at pharmacies) for a while, or rub it in hot water to remove it.

To remove stains such as paint or asphalt, you can use 10-20% ammonia water (you can also add half the amount of turpentine as ammonia water) or soak in 2% borax solution, and then wash after it dissolves. Another method is to immerse it in benzene or toluene, dissolve it and then wash it.
