80% of diseases are related to poor water quality

Water is the source of life. If you want to be healthy, you must drink good water and let water fully achieve its health-care effects. Water is a necessary substance to maintain normal human physiological functions. Water is the basis of life, and body fluids account for about 70% of an adult's body weight. We drink water every day, but how can we drink water healthily? Let's listen to the experts' advice.

-Drinking water

80% of diseases are related to poor water quality

Water is the most precious resource for mankind, but with the development of industry, the pollution of drinking water sources around the world is becoming more and more serious, and the crisis of human drinking water is also becoming more and more serious. From a national perspective, three types of pollution, pathogenic microorganisms, heavy metals and organic matter, coexist in water, and the health hazards of drinking water pollution are serious. It is reported that 80% of diseases are related to poor water quality; 50% of child deaths are related to poor water quality; and more than 50 diseases are related to drinking poor water quality.

Urban water production technology has limitations

The water from the water plant is usually qualified, but even if it is qualified water, it takes a very long pipe from the water plant to the user's home. In cities such as Beijing and Guangzhou, it may take a week. During this period, some physical and chemical changes will occur in the pipe, leading to biological and chemical instability, which in turn makes the water quality deteriorate.

At present, there are certain problems with drinking water hygiene in my country. For urban tap water, conventional tap water treatment technology has its limitations. The water plant has been using the four-step conventional drinking water treatment process of coagulation, sedimentation, filtration and chlorination disinfection for more than 100 years. However, when the raw water contains organic pollution, chlorination may produce disinfection by-products such as trihalomethanes, which are harmful to human health. In addition, there are other difficult-to-eliminate chemical pollutants in tap water.

In addition to the pollution of water sources, the pollution of tap water supply pipelines and secondary water supply also faces a serious situation. The pipe network is old and the water is rusty; the pipe network is damaged and maintenance is polluting. As my country's per capita economic level and living standards improve, people have a higher level of self-protection awareness and demand higher levels of drinking water, and drinking water hygiene has gradually attracted people's high attention.

Purified water does not equal healthy "good" water

From the consumer's perspective, clean, clear, colorless and odorless water can be called good water. However, from a professional perspective, only water that meets the "Sanitary Standards for Drinking Water" can be considered good water. The "Sanitary Standards for Drinking Water" was jointly revised by the Ministry of Health, the National Standards Administration, the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, the Ministry of Water Resources, the Ministry of Land and Resources, and the State Environmental Protection Administration, and was fully implemented on July 1, 2012. In order to allow citizens to drink safer and more reliable water, the 2012 version of the "Sanitary Standards for Drinking Water" has made stricter regulations compared to the 1985 standards.

Tips: Tips for healthy drinking water

In order to improve the quality of life, residents are advised to install water purification equipment at home. If a water purifier has not been installed yet, you can follow the experts' advice to drink relatively safe and healthy drinking water.

1. Tap water must be boiled before drinking. It would be better if you can keep the water boiling for 3 to 5 minutes before turning off the fire. Generally speaking, tap water boiled at high temperature can kill most bacteria and viruses. This is the most basic guarantee for safe drinking water. Please be sure to drink boiled tap water. In addition, Teacher Zhang also reminded everyone that tap water should not be boiled for too long after boiling, as boiling water for a long time will also produce harmful substances.

2. When boiling water every morning, please drain the stagnant water that has remained in the tap overnight. Do not waste this water. You can use it to wash your face or rinse your mouth. Because the stagnant water in the pipes will inevitably breed bacteria and other unclean substances after a night of sedimentation. It will have no effect if used for washing, but the impurities in drinking water will be higher than those in the running water in the pipes.

-Water Purifier

Choosing the right water purifier is the key to drinking good water

There are four main types of water purifiers commonly found on the market, namely, filtration-type water purifiers, adsorption-type water purifiers, softening-type water purifiers, and special water purifiers. Each technology has its advantages and limitations. For ordinary households, the combination of activated carbon and ultraviolet rays can remove trace organic matter, some heavy metals, kill common pathogenic microorganisms, and retain minerals such as calcium and magnesium ions in the water that are beneficial to the body. It is an ideal water purifier model.

Choose a water purifier based on location and water needs

Although municipal authorities strictly control drinking water standards, if the water quality can be changed at the source, we can enjoy safer and cleaner drinking water. Drinking water quality treatment devices, which use municipal tap water or other centralized water supply as raw water and undergo further treatment to improve the quality of drinking water and remove certain harmful substances in the water, can easily solve everyone's drinking water problem. As people's living standards improve, water purifiers have become more and more popular, which shows that citizens' health awareness has increased. Experts suggest that families who have not installed water purifiers should choose products with appropriate principles according to local water quality conditions and personal needs, use water purifiers scientifically, and drink clean water with confidence!
