How is breast fibroid diagnosed

1. Fine needle aspiration cytology: The smear shows piles of ductal epithelial cells, scattered or grouped fibroblasts, and mucus in the background. The diagnostic consistency rate can reach more than 90%.

2. Histopathological examination is used in the following situations: ① The patient is older or has enlarged lymph nodes in the ipsilateral axillary area; ② Patients suspected of malignancy in special breast examinations; ③ Patients with a family history of breast cancer; ④ Patients with abnormal cells or suspected cancer cells in needle aspiration cytology examinations.

There are some other auxiliary examinations:

1. Molybdenum target X-ray film X-ray images show round or oval masses with smooth edges, and their density is higher than that of breast glands. Calcification can be seen in a few patients, mostly in the form of granular columnar, dendritic, or fine sand. If the calcification is large granular or large mass, it has diagnostic significance.

2. Ultrasound examination showed that the tumor was round or oval, substantial, with clear boundaries, homogeneous weak light spots inside, complete posterior wall line, side wall acoustic shadow, and enhanced posterior echo.

3. The tumor in the liquid crystal thermal image is a low-temperature image or a normal thermal image, and there is no abnormality in the skin blood vessels.

4. The transmittance of the tumor under infrared illumination is basically the same as that of the surrounding normal breast tissue. The tumor is large, with clear boundaries, and there are no dark shadows of vascular changes around it.
