What is rheumatic fever renal damage

What is rheumatic fever renal damage

Everyone's kidneys are very important, because only with kidneys can we ensure our reproductive health. At the same time, kidneys can also help us filter more toxins and ensure that the body is not invaded by toxins. However, there are many factors in life that can damage the kidneys, such as acute rheumatic fever. Many people don’t quite understand this situation. What exactly is acute rheumatic fever kidney damage?

Acute rheumatic fever renal damage is a short-term, non-progressive immune damage to both kidneys caused by rheumatic fever with mild pathological changes.

Symptoms and signs

Symptoms and diagnosis

1. Medical history and symptoms

Some patients may have transient gross hematuria or mild proteinuria, which disappears after a few days. Occasionally, short-term nephrotic syndrome symptoms may be seen.

Second, physical examination found

There were no clear signs of renal damage.

3. Auxiliary examination

(1) Urinalysis shows mild proteinuria or hematuria.

(ii) Renal function is generally normal.

(III) Pathological changes are mostly segmental or mild to moderate diffuse mesangial proliferation, and occasionally manifestations of acute interstitial nephritis are seen, all of which are short-term lesions.

Treatment

The main treatment is acute rheumatic fever, and kidney changes should be tracked and observed, with attention paid to differential diagnosis. Because this disease is short-term and self-limiting, no special treatment is required and it generally improves or returns to normal as the rheumatic fever improves. If hematuria is obvious, refer to the treatment of IgA nephritis.

Diet and health care

For black foods, black beans are the first choice, followed by black rice, black sesame seeds, and wolfberries can also be eaten.

Yam: In addition to nourishing the lungs and strengthening the spleen, it can also benefit the kidneys and replenish essence. People with kidney deficiency should eat it regularly.

Dried scallops: can nourish the kidney and nourish yin, so people with kidney yin deficiency should eat them regularly.

Sea bass: It can nourish the spleen and stomach, as well as the liver and kidneys, and benefit the tendons and bones.

Chestnut: In addition to its functions of nourishing the spleen and stomach, it also has the function of nourishing the kidneys and strengthening the waist. It is most suitable for people with kidney deficiency and low back pain.

If you want to prevent the above-mentioned situation from occurring, you should actively treat all diseases related to acute rheumatic fever in normal times to prevent bacterial infection. You should also exercise more often and find ways to strengthen your physical fitness. Eat more nutritious food, pay attention to scientific diet, and don't smoke and drink all the time.
