How to treat advanced nasopharyngeal carcinoma

How to treat advanced nasopharyngeal carcinoma?

1. Nasopharyngeal carcinoma is a common malignant tumor of the head and neck. Some patients will experience local recurrence or metastasis after treatment. For such patients, a full-body system examination should be performed first to check the specific metastasis range. PET-CT should be selected. Through this examination, we can evaluate the condition of the whole body, clarify the metastasis range of the cancer, and perform clinical staging classification.

2. According to the clinical and pathological staging and classification, some patients also need chemotherapy. Most patients can get better control and relief after radiotherapy and chemotherapy. Nasopharyngeal carcinoma is the most common tumor among head and neck malignancies. Patients with advanced nasopharyngeal carcinoma cannot undergo surgical resection, and the first choice is a comprehensive treatment plan of synchronous radiotherapy and chemotherapy.
