Expired royal jelly

Expired royal jelly

In life, everything that is expired cannot be eaten, no matter how high the nutritional value of the food is, as long as it is expired, we cannot eat it, because expired food has deteriorated, and it has no nutritional value after we eat it. Instead, it will cause symptoms of diarrhea and abdominal pain. We cannot eat expired royal jelly, but the nutritional value of non-expired royal jelly is relatively high. You can learn about it.

What to do if royal jelly expires

To preserve royal jelly at home, you can put it in the freezer of the refrigerator. It can be stored for more than one year. For convenience, you can take out a small amount and put it in the refrigerator. It can be stored for about one month. The specific gravity of fresh royal jelly is slightly greater than that of water, but lower than that of honey, and is sensitive to heat. It is easy to ferment at room temperature. It becomes ineffective at 80 to 120 degrees, but is stable when frozen and can be stored for several years below -18 degrees. Light can reduce the aldehyde and ketone groups in royal jelly, so it should be stored away from light. The storage container should be neutral and insoluble, and should not contain lead or arsenic. Royal jelly is easily oxidized in the air, and water vapor also hydrolyzes it. Therefore, royal jelly should be stored away from water vapor and air. It can be stored in the refrigerator's refrigerator compartment (below 15 degrees) for one month, in the freezer (-10 degrees) for one year, and at -18 degrees for two years. If it’s too long past the expiration date, it’s best to throw it away and not eat it.

Royal jelly is very sensitive to temperature, oxygen and light, and should be stored under low temperature, sealed and light-proof conditions. Fresh royal jelly contains a large amount of active protein, so the fresh royal jelly you just bought should be stored in the freezer of the refrigerator immediately. Do not keep it in the refrigerator for a long time. Try to minimize the time it is at room temperature. Take it out in time when you need it and put it back in the freezer after use. It is prohibited to use metal containers or metal spoons to prevent the acidic substances in the royal jelly from reacting with the metal and reducing its effectiveness.

The main function of royal jelly

1. Assist in lowering blood sugar. This effect is mainly inferred from the insulin-like peptides it contains, which are specific drugs for the treatment of diabetes. Experiments have shown that consuming 10 grams of royal jelly combined with Lin Zhongling every day can treat diabetes and insomnia.

2. Antioxidant effect. This effect is widely recognized by the public. Royal jelly has a strong effect on cell repair and regeneration. Superoxide dismutase (SOD) detected in royal jelly is the main antioxidant component.

3. Lower blood lipids. Royal jelly contains more than 10 essential vitamins for the human body. It can balance fat metabolism and sugar metabolism, reduce high blood lipids and high blood sugar in obese people, and is very suitable for obese diabetic patients.

4. Control vasodilation and lower blood pressure. This conclusion comes from the 10-hydroxy-decenoic acid (royal jelly acid) and royal jelly major protein-1 it contains.

5. Protect the liver. Royal jelly can not only kill hepatitis virus, but also inhibit the replication of the virus in liver cells. Substances such as flavonoids in propolis can lower transaminase, promote liver cell regeneration, and prevent cirrhosis. Such patients are not suitable for taking propolis products containing alcohol, but should take non-alcoholic propolis soft capsules or concentrated solutions with higher content.

6. It has anti-aging effects, strengthens sexual function, resists radiation, and enhances memory.
