What causes fibroids

What causes fibroids

What causes fibroids? Any disease has its own causes and unique growth environment. For example, fibroids can cause unpredictable harm to patients. So today we will take a look at what causes fibroids:

What causes fibroids?

1. Cause: It originates from neurofibromatous ectodermal tumors and is a type of less differentiated schwannoma. It can appear alone or as part of the systemic symptoms of Recklin-Chausen's disease. The latter is often accompanied by café-lait-pigmentation on the skin. It is a congenital malformation that is familial. Patients are relatively young and the disease progresses slowly.

2. Pathology: This tumor has no capsule, and even if it has one, it is incomplete. There is proliferation of various components of nerve tissue in the tumor, among which the proliferation of nerve sheath cells is the most obvious. In addition to a large amount of fibrous tissue proliferation, there are also blood vessels of varying sizes and thick nerves in the form of cords. The difference from nerve sheath tumor under the microscope is that there is no complete capsule and the tumor cells are not arranged in a fence-like manner.

Treatment principles: Fibroma should be surgically removed at an early stage, and the surrounding tissues should be appropriately removed. Desmoid tumors should be extensively removed at an early stage. The tumor should be sent for pathological examination after surgery to exclude malignancy, and medication is generally not required.

Treatment:

1. Benign fibroma: surgical resection and send for pathological examination.

2. Fibromatosis: Fibromatosis growing in areas susceptible to pressure and friction can be removed and then pathologically examined.

3. Desmoid tumor: local extensive resection, including complete resection of the tumor and the surrounding 3 cm tissue, and skin grafting, otherwise it is very likely to recur.

Fibroids should be removed surgically at an early stage, and the surrounding connected tissues should be removed appropriately. The tumors should be sent for pathological examination after surgery to rule out malignancy. Generally, no medication is required.
