1. How to make apple and pear lean meat soup

Ingredients : 500g lean meat, 1 pear (about 300g), 1 apple (about 150g), 10g each of northern and southern almonds, 5g dried figs, 6 red dates, 3g wolfberry, 10g ginger

Steps/Methods :

1) Wash figs, almonds and wolfberries with clean water and set aside. Wash the apples and pears, remove the cores but not the skin, and cut into large pieces.

2) Wash the tenderloin and cut into 4 large pieces. Pour clean water into the pot, bring to a boil over high heat, add the tenderloin and blanch for 3 minutes, then remove from the pot and rinse off the foam on the surface of the meat with clean water. Discard the water used to blanch the tenderloin.

3) Place the blanched tenderloin, figs, almonds, apples, pears and wolfberries into a soup pot, add water, bring to a boil over high heat, skim off the foam, cover with a lid, and simmer over low heat for 1 hour.

4) Add salt to taste before serving.

In spring and summer, a lot of heat accumulates in the human body, and this soup can clear away heat and resolve phlegm, eliminating all heat, so it is a soup suitable for all seasons.

2. Apples can quench thirst, while pears can moisten the lungs, eliminate dryness, clear away heat and resolve phlegm. Although people with spleen deficiency should not eat too much, there is no need to worry about eating it when combined with lean meat which nourishes and replenishes the body. It is a soup suitable for all ages.

3. Figs are sweet and mild in nature, have the effect of clearing heat and detoxifying, and are a common ingredient for soup. If you don’t have it, you can leave it out or use candied dates instead.

4. Compared with other parts of pork, lean pork contains more high-quality protein. It provides hemoglobin (organic iron) and cysteine ​​which promotes iron absorption. It can improve iron deficiency anemia, has the effects of nourishing the kidney and blood, nourishing yin and moistening dryness, and has less fat and cholesterol. The general population can eat it in moderation.
