Can a red umbrella protect against ultraviolet radiation?

Can a red umbrella protect against ultraviolet radiation?

Ultraviolet rays are a type of electromagnetic radiation and also a type of physical optics. The main light source of ultraviolet rays is the sun, which can also cause certain damage to people's skin, so parasols are very important. Whether a red umbrella can block ultraviolet rays depends on the effectiveness of the umbrella's sun-proof layer.

1. No Color

Blocking UV rays has little to do with color; the key is the material of the umbrella. If you really want to compare colors, lighter colors will block more. The more visible light is reflected, the lighter the color that enters our eyes, so the mirror appears white when you look at it in the sunlight. As for ultraviolet rays, light purple should be more effective in blocking them. Because light purple has the strongest reflectivity to the purple band in visible light, and the frequency of ultraviolet light is closer to the purple light in visible light.

2. Parasol

Sun umbrellas can block about 70% of UV rays, but they cannot block reflected UV rays. If there is no umbrella with anti-UV coating, you can also use an ordinary parasol. The black umbrella has relatively better protection effect, followed by pink and goose yellow, while red has almost no UV protection function. The ones with a silver film inside are best. Nothing else works. Many so-called anti-UV umbrellas are just a layer of anti-UV chemical raw materials coated on the fabric. Many of them are fake and have no anti-UV effect at all. They are just said that.

3. Purchase method

When viewed under the sun, the darker the shadow of an umbrella, the better, which means it is able to block ultraviolet rays. Another thing is that if we use the banknote check pen to check banknotes through an umbrella, if no information is detected, it means that the umbrella can block ultraviolet rays.
